In a culinary move set to tantalize the taste buds of Fort Worth residents, Peak Restaurant & Bar, renowned for its fusion of Indian cuisine and sports bar ambiance, is gearing up to open its second location in the heart of Fort Worth. The new establishment will be situated within the Western Plaza II shopping center, at 2901 Fair Dr, Fort Worth, taking over a space that boasts a storied history, most recently being home to Baxter’s Grill & Sports Pub.

The opening date for the new Peak Restaurant & Bar is eagerly anticipated, with renovations currently underway. Management is eyeing an early 2024 launch to bring their unique blend of flavors and entertainment to the Fort Worth community.

The star of the show at Peak is undoubtedly their signature dish – momos. These Himalayan dumplings come stuffed with a tantalizing array of meats and vegetables, available either steamed or fried. With a menu that boasts over 40 varieties, diners can choose from options featuring chicken, pork, mutton, beef, or a vegetarian twist, with some served alongside delectable dipping sauces. For those seeking to experience a bit of everything, the Momo platter offers a perfect sampler, showcasing 16 momos prepared in four distinct ways: steamed, kothey (half steamed, half fried), chilly (served with a hot sauce), and sadeko (marinated to perfection).

In addition to their momo mastery, Peak offers a range of house specials. Among these is the mouthwatering piro sausage, served on a skewer and accompanied by a spicy dip. Another intriguing offering is the “sadeko French fries,” a playful nod to Nepali cuisine where “sadeko” means marinated. Anything marinated with herbs and spices is transformed into a sadeko dish.

However, what truly sets Peak apart is its unique fusion of a sports bar atmosphere with authentic Indian cuisine. With its club-style lighting, multiple TVs, and a selection of crafty cocktails, it’s the ideal destination for sports enthusiasts looking to savor the flavors of India. Notably, Peak boasts a weekday happy hour from 4-7 p.m., offering a range of dishes and drinks at the enticing prices of $3-$6.

Peak Restaurant & Bar doesn’t just cater to the beer-loving crowd; it also serves as an introduction to Indian food and culture for many in the Fort Worth area. Innovative dishes like Peak’s chicken lollipops – Frenched chicken winglets served with chili garlic sauce – make for a perfect fusion bar snack. The restaurant even goes above and beyond by hosting live events, such as a concert by Himalayan folk singer Bipul Chettri, which was dubbed “the ultimate pregame experience” before a live-streamed NFL game.

This expansion into Fort Worth is a joint venture between Bipin Thakali, an entrepreneurial visionary with a background in entertainment and events, and Manoj Raj, owner of Everest Indian & Himalayan Restaurant, which already has successful locations in Irving and Plano. A manager at Peak expressed their excitement about becoming a part of the Fort Worth community, stating, “Fort Worth is a diverse city with a lot of Nepali people and Indian people, and we’re finding it’s also a very welcoming community.”
