Marriott Hotels has announced the opening of the Perhentian Marriott Resort and Spa on Perentian Kecil Island, Terengganu, on the east coast of Malaysia. Perhentian Marriott Resort and Spa, positioned amid the stunning Perentian Island Marine Park, is the first-ever resort in Terengganu. With its rich heritage, the new resort invites guests to experience a tropical paradise with abundant marine biodiversity, stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and an array of thrilling activities. and the tradition of Malaysian culture. Located on the northwest coast of Perhentian Kecil Island, the resort is accessible by ferry from Kuala Besut Pier, which is an hour’s drive from Kota Bharu.

The Perhentian Marriott Resort and Spa offers modern elegance and comfort in its 200 luxurious rooms and 17 villas that offer breathtaking ocean views during both day and night. The spaces are specifically positioned to follow the natural contour of the existing topography to minimize ground disturbance. Rooms are carefully positioned and angled to ensure unobstructed views and privacy. They are designed to be simple, clean and modern, with the intention that they will blend in with nature and cause minimal disruption. The largest is the 120 square meter Royal Villa, one of the largest hotel suites on the island, with its own pool. Guests can enjoy the comfort of plush beds and free Wi-Fi in every room, as well as all villas with their own soothing natural hues.

A 24-hour gym and yoga deck with ocean views provide a workout option for guests, while the resort’s three outdoor pools and hot tubs are chlorine-free. water for an environmentally conscious and refreshing experience. For young guests aged 3-17, Club Penyu is an entertainment center that enhances their family holidays by offering educational and fun activities centered on local culture, food, and ocean experiences. Guests can enjoy the Terengganu Arts, Crafts and Cultural Center, which is home to traditional arts and crafts from Terangguya, as well as workshops, demonstrations, and activities.
