Cha Bar, the first of its kind urban contemporary space that created a rage in Kolkata in the year 2000, turning tea from a dry page in history to a lifestyle drink, opens its second outlet at Allenby Road, Kolkata. Following the success of its flagship outlet in Park Street, Kolkata, the new Cha Bar offers an extensive range of teas and cultural preparations besides a wide range of delicacies, every day of the week from 9 am to 9 pm truly making it a tea- lover’s go-to destination.
Cha Bar at Allenby Road is spread across 900 sq. ft with its stylishly designed ambience. A classic combination of regal black and white with sleek interiors make the new outlet look fresh and luxurious at the same time. Spaciously curated with a blend of modern architecture and heritage essences, Cha Bar is all set to take its customers on a deluxe gastronomic ride, making one spoilt for choice with an assortment of teas blended and prepared with precision after exhaustive research; served with personalized and informed service.
The new Cha Bar offers the signature Cha Bar menu including over 150 varieties of tea ranging from Organic, Herbal, Bubble Teas, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Moroccan, Russian, Sri Lankan, South African and Thai Teas. The food menu brings the best of Kolkata and the world with the crowd-puller Fish and Chips, Fresh Salads, yummy Keema Samosas and a variety of cakes to lure in the sweet-lovers. As an introductory offer, customers will be given a complimentary cup of Cha Bar’s famous Masala Cha with every order.

From the Flowering Teas, Organic Teas, Herbal Teas, Diet Teas, Fruit Teas, Bubble Teas to an exclusive range of Darjeeling, Nilgiri, Sikkim and Oolong, complemented by the best in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Moroccan, Russian, Sri Lankan, South African and Thai Teas – make up over 150 varieties on offer to create pure joy for our customers Cha Bar’s menu boasts of exotic and cultural blends like the Moroccan Mint, South African Rooibos, Decaf Teas, Green Teas and Ayurvedic Teas with healing powers and all of them are popular amongst our patrons. Special category of ‘Chai Hindustani’ and the Cutting Cha has been reinvented here at Cha Bar. It also serves single Estate Virginal Teas from our Plantations in Upper Assam in a truly contemporary setting delivering an experience that has made Cha Bar a preferred destination. It was in April 2007 that we first brought Bollywood Masala Mix Cha, Truck Drivers 100 Mile Ki Cha, Katakali, Formosa Oolong, Yellow Tea, Emerald Green, Vervain Blue, Jasmine Pearl, Chinese Lapsang Souchoung, Verbena Tea, Licorice Tea, Fruit Melange, and Japanese Genmaicha to our menu.
To complement the collection of Teas, Cha Bar offers a wide selection of À la carte savouries such as fresh wholesome salads like the Mediterranean Salad, classic Caesar with a choice of dressings that are perfect for a nutritious meal. Scrumptious finger foods like Chilli Cheese Toasties, Cha Piazzi and Cocktail Sausage Rolls are the ideal appetisers to share with friends and family. Other titbits include the classic English Tea Sandwiches, Pita Wraps and Rolls, house special soft-centred muffins, freshly baked cookies and cupcakes, home-style special cakes and pies like the Carrot and Walnut Apple and Cinnamon Pie is perfect to round off tea time or take away. Other delightful savouries include Falafel Hummus in Pita Pockets, Barbequed Chicken Sausages, Paneer Khurchan Rolls, Keema Samosas and Double Chocolate Chip and Walnut Cookies.
With in-house experts; the experience of nurturing tea in our plantations dating back more than a 100 years; and renowned chefs with 50 years of experience in fine hospitality and award-winning Food & Beverage offerings; the Cha Bar menu is refreshed regularly with additional varieties of exotic Teas and scrumptious snacks.
Cha Bar has always prided itself in its focus on customer satisfaction, keeping which in mind; the newly launched space would adhere to all MHA guidelines regarding COVID-19. It is mandatory for customers to go through a regulatory temperature check and sanitization of hands. Entry without masks are not permitted in the store. Guests will be seated adhering to the 6-feet social distancing rules. The store will be sanitized at least twice per day to give a safe, hygienic and worry-free experience to its customers.
Cha Bar has a long-standing relationship of curating special menus marrying literature and food. Keeping this tradition alive, the store is open to various events – book readings, meet-ups, party bookings, etc. These would, however, be subject to conditions and with limited seats because of the MHA regulations. The store would start home-delivery options shortly.
