The magic behind Dehradoon’s Doon bakery products is that it is made using organic ingredients such as wheat gluten, milk, butter, honey, eggs, oils, starch, sugar, spices, raisins, cereals, grain flours, etc for almost all the products. The ingredients are made in the bakery itself, the team is not having any specific manufacturing unit for doing so. The team is successfully going to launch their sugar-free rusk and sugar-free biscuits.

Doon Bakey

Founded in 1955 by Late Mr. Madanlal Narula, the bakery is run by the next generation who made this the most sought out place in the vicinity. The growth of the Brand was showed up at every stage. The bakery is mainly specialized in confectionery products and the demand was increasing at every point. People came to know about the products and that’s how slowly the bakery was growing. The bakery from 1955 – 1975 was at Dehradun after that it was shifted to Rishikesh. The shifting plan was mainly because of the family plans and careers on which the business was focused on.

Whatever new products or items the Doon Bakery comes up with, they make sure the items are fully designed in an attractive food package which also increases appetite, and people eat more than they need for being fit. Doon Bakery offers the best Packaging design to their clients that is safe and fresh. For most of the customer needs, their design team is ready to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind cake. The team craft excellent quality baked goods that are valued for money. Doon Bakery offers a choice of Cakes, Pastries, Confectionery, Viennoiserie, Snacks, and an open range of Customised Gifts, Festive Hampers, and much more for Individuals and Corporate needs.

Doon Bakery still uses the traditional way of marketing their business or rather attracting their customers., which is followed from the beginning till now. The team still believes that the customer needs to come back and reach us by experiencing the real taste. Only limited machines like oven and baking equipment are used in terms of technology. The bakery is still having the old customers who are still attached to the bakery and they still do get their regular products.“We don’t use any kind of technical machines. The only machine that we use in the bakery is the European billing machine,” said Mr. Ashish Narula, Owner, Doon Bakery, Rishikesh.

Demand For The Products
Most of the products that get sold in the bakery are Cakes pastries, snacks, biscuits, rusk, and so on. The customers are expecting hygiene after the Covid-19 pandemic situation, therefore the kitchen unit and staff are very particular in their policy of cleaning and maintaining the proper hygiene. Rishikesh is a place where a lot of tourists arrive daily. People after the Covid-19 pandemic are very conscious of their health. Diabetic-free sugar items are getting ready to be released within one week. These products will be from sugar-free rusk and sugar-free biscuits. The tourist that is coming into Rishikesh demands the products like cake pizza snacks. “Our presence is recently available in online platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, but we are mainly focusing on offline sales” added Ashish.

Expansion Plans
At present, the bakery is having only one outlet which is at Rishikesh. The team is planning to expand the current outlet which will be done with some machines to reduce the manpower. This adoption is mainly to increase the quantity of the products which shouldn’t satisfy is the quality. The bakery is planning to put up more outlet structures with an area of 900 sqft in the city for tourists and is yet to get the tie-ups with online food delivery platforms like swiggy and zomato. “We are trying to get in touch with some distributors at Dehradun, Haridwar, and Delhi to make our products more visible to the customers”. added Ashish.
