In a bold and thoughtfully aligned extension of its brand ethos, Bangalore-based iD Fresh Food has ventured into the ready-mix segment, introducing a clean-label range of South Indian tiffin mixes. This launch, unveiled in early August 2025, marks a deliberate move: to offer pantry-friendly, preservative-free options that preserve the authentic taste of homemade meals while catering to today’s convenience-driven lifestyles.

From Fresh Batters to Shelf-Stable Mixes

iD Fresh Food has long stood for purity and trust — famously offering idli and dosa batters free from artificial additives. The new ready-mix line extends that “no nasties” promise to shelf-stable formats, allowing consumers to enjoy traditional favorites without compromising on health or flavor.

CEO (India) Rajat Diwakar sums up the intent: “With iD Ready Mixes, we wanted to offer more than just convenience. Our goal was to stay rooted in tradition while creating pantry-ready solutions for modern lives.” The message is clear—modern households no longer need to choose between wholesome, home-style eating and time-saving products.

Truly Clean: What Sets the Mixes Apart

What distinguishes these mixes is the brand’s unwavering clean-label approach. Each product is formulated without preservatives, soda, anti-caking agents, or raising agents—only real, simple ingredients inspired by recipes passed down through generations.

Produced in FSSAI-compliant facilities, the mixes are consistent in quality and hygienically made, reinforcing the brand’s long-held reputation for safety and reliability.

Where to Find Them—and Future Expansion Plans

The new ready-mix line is already hitting shelves across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and other major metros through both general trade and supermarkets.

iD Fresh Food aims to broaden its footprint significantly: the target—make the mixes available across over 100,000 outlets across India in the next two years, including in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and to venture into global markets as a showcase for authentic Indian cuisine.

What This Means for the Brand—and the Market

This strategic debut in the ready-mix space signals iD’s deeper commitment to innovation in convenience without sacrificing its brand values. CMO Gaurav Kwatra emphasizes: “iD has always been at the forefront of innovation—offering preservative-free products that stay true to authentic taste… With Ready Mixes, we’re extending that philosophy to the pantry shelf”.

In a market increasingly sensitive to clean-label claims, this product line may well compel competitors to enhance their ingredients or marketing to match iD’s standards.

Why It Matters to Consumers

The new mixes allow users to enjoy South Indian tiffin favorites with five-star purity—with just a few minutes of prep. They offer:

  • Convenience—instant tiffin meals straight from your pantry.

  • Purity & health focus—with no hidden synthetic ingredients.

  • Flavor and authenticity—delivered through recipes rooted in traditional kitchens.

For busy families, working professionals, and urban dwellers, these mixes deliver a taste of home without the fuss.

Looking Ahead: Global Ambitions and Beyond

This launch is more than just diversification—it’s a foundation for broader expansion. The brand envisions leveraging its clean-label credibility as a global ambassador for Indian cuisine.

As iD Fresh scales both its distribution network and its product ladder, it may well become the go-to for modern, health-aware consumers seeking both tradition and convenience.
