After winning over diners in Anna Nagar with its modern take on vegetarian cuisine, VB World has now opened its biggest and most ambitious outlet yet in Velachery. Launched on June 14, the new flagship spans an impressive 24,000 square feet and builds on everything people already love about the brand, offering even more in terms of design, space, and global food choices.

VB World is the latest evolution of a legacy that began with Vasanta Bhavan in 1974, was carried forward through Namma Veedu Vasanta Bhavan, and now continues into a new chapter with VB World. Conceptualised by the third generation of the founding family, the brand blends deep-rooted trust with fresh energy to create a space where tradition meets modern hospitality.

 Backed by over five decades of trust, VB World builds on the Vasanta Bhavan legacy to bring global flavours and premium hospitality to today’s diners. The new outlet serves as a true lifestyle destination, housing a 220-seater restaurant, a one-thousand guest capacity banquet hall, and an in-house café concept, Cones & Brew, which seats 100 — bringing the total to over 320 seats. The space is equipped with dedicated parking for sixty cars and has been designed to offer comfort, accessibility and elegance at every turn.

At the heart of VB World Velachery is its wide-ranging menu that brings together cuisines from around the world. From Korean and Japanese to Burmese, Thai, Italian and Mexican, every dish is vegetarian and made with premium ingredients. Guests can choose from a mix of comfort food, street-style plates, wood-fired pizzas, wellness bowls and decadent desserts, all served in a setting that feels both modern and rooted.

The interiors are thoughtfully laid out with a variety of seating options including plush pods, raised dining areas, live food counters and intimate café-style zones. The ambience is warm, contemporary and designed to make guests feel at ease, whether they are here for a family meal, a coffee catch-up or a milestone celebration.

Cones & Brew, the café within VB World Velachery, offers a relaxed, globally inspired menu that includes smoothie bowls, loaded fries, spring rolls with hot honey, mocktails and more. A key highlight is Chennai’s first DIY ice cream popsicle bar, where guests can customise their own frozen treat by picking a base, choosing a dip, and finishing with a range of toppings and flavoured drizzles. The café also features a dedicated coffee bar that serves single-origin beans from a Chikmagalur estate, freshly brewed in six different international styles including Vietnamese Phin, siphon, AeroPress, French press, pour over and cold brew. Guests can also choose from an extensive espresso menu with multiple flavour options and alternative milks.

What sets VB World apart is its ability to reimagine what vegetarian dining can be. While most vegetarian restaurants stick to the familiar, VB World offers a complete experience that blends innovation with nostalgia. Every element, from the interiors to the menu to the café concept, has been designed with attention to detail and a clear sense of purpose.
